She KNEW the ’55 Had It In It ! Sick Week Testing, While Sick, At Centerville Dragway in Arkansas Proves Aero Isn’t Everything
Alex Taylor is back at it, prepping and testing for Sick Week 2026 which is coming up in just a couple of weeks. They aren’t alone, as lots of racers are in full thrash mode getting cars ready or testing before Sick Week starts. Not everyone will get done enough to actually do testing before arriving at Gainesville Raceway, but those that do are hoping their cars will do what they planned for the 2026 race. Not all will. Here’s how Alex’s testing went so far.
She’s happy!
Video Description:
Everyone’s favorite thing to say – is that the 55 won’t run quicker because of aerodynamics. And my favorite thing to say is – that’s not true. We just need to work on the first half the track. We’re running 220+ mph… That’s enough mph for a mid 6 second pass. But we’ve always been behind in the short numbers because the car has been temperamental at the hit and not reacted how we wanted so we haven’t been able to add power. But, after testing in Norwalk with Mickey Thompson, we had things we wanted to test. So we rented Centerville Dragway close to us, and working on proving our theories. And for the First time we saw a 1.0x 60 ft. That’s so impressive for what the car is and moving in the right direction! And after reviewing data, the chassis seems so much happier. Looking forward to Sick Week 2026 now! Also – I was totally sick in this video. lol
Thanks for watching!
