Jaguar ends F-Pace production, closing its ICE chapter and accelerating EV transition

Jaguar has brought production of the F-Pace to a close after nearly ten years, with the final unit rolling off the assembly line at its Solihull facility in the UK. The plant is set to play a key role in the brand’s transition to electric-only vehicles. The last-produced F-Pace will be preserved by the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust, joining other landmark models from the marque’s history.

The end of the F-Pace also signals the conclusion of internal combustion engine production under the Jaguar brand. With this, the company currently has no ICE-powered vehicles in its global portfolio.

Jaguar F-Pace: background and India context

The F-Pace marked Jaguar’s entry into the luxury SUV segment and was first unveiled at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. Global sales began in 2016, followed by its Indian launch later that year. Initially offered with diesel engines, the lineup expanded in 2018 to include a petrol option. A facelift arrived in 2021, bringing design updates and additional features.

In its final iteration in India, the SUV was available with a 2.0-litre petrol engine producing 247 HP or a 2.0-litre diesel delivering 204 HP. Both engines were paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox from ZF and featured all-wheel drive. The last recorded ex-showroom price for the F-Pace in India stood at Rs. 72.90 lakhs.

Shift to an electric-only future

The decision to discontinue the F-Pace aligns with Jaguar’s long-term strategy outlined by former CEO Thierry Bolloré in 2021, which aimed to reposition the brand as an all-electric luxury carmaker. As part of this transformation, Jaguar revealed a new brand identity in late 2024, followed by the unveiling of the Type 00 Concept, offering a preview of its future design direction.

Jaguar’s first post-F-Pace production model is now expected to debut in 2026. Originally scheduled for an earlier reveal, the timeline was revised after a major cyberattack in August 2025 temporarily disrupted operations at several Jaguar facilities, including Solihull. Production resumed in October 2025.

What comes next

The upcoming four-door electric GT will be manufactured at the Solihull plant – the same site that built the F-Pace. Jaguar plans to introduce the new EV initially in North America and Europe. If launched in India, it is expected to compete with models such as the Porsche Taycan and the Audi e-tron GT.

With the F-Pace now part of Jaguar’s history, the brand’s focus shifts entirely to redefining itself in the electric luxury space.
