JAC JS6 review 2025: Sold on smiles!

JAC JS6 might look like it is out of a sci-fi tale, with its sparkling lights across the bonnet and back, and its friendly bot like smile. However, it is not as much for its techie streak as for its thoughtfulness that this family-priority five-seater is loved.
Al Habtoor Motors has represented JAC in the UAE for over 12 years. That makes the brand one of the earliest entrants in this market – and currently as the number of Chinese badges are well past forty, this seniority of presence comes across as convincing, just as the forty plus automobile years of Al Habtoor Motors. Six decades as a carmaker speak for the well-picked lineup of JAC, which still includes a sedan (J7) and a popular compact SUV (JS4). Today, we take JS6 for a spin. Besides weighing the model on a balance, we will also check out their year-end offers and see if they are compelling enough!

Contemporary comforts
The lights that smile with an array of sparkling jewels and the friendly sci-fi face bring up the likeable first impression. Inside, the ambience is elegant and cozy with value defined by leatherette comfort, while the panoramic sunroof adds to the spacious openness. Much of the desirability of JS6 is the midline it takes between tech and treat. The clear, bold presence of utilitarian tech and the considerate inclusion of premium comfort features.

Cabin Tech and Comfort
The 12.3” dual screen is simple, functional and bold in its choice of graphics and neat array of buttons. From the Home page, where segments are assigned for the most used functions, you move to the all-function screen. However, once a function is selected it takes an extra step routed through the home screen instead of directly landing again at the functions page. A small step for the driver and the big leap here is that I didn’t have to put up with glitches in electronics that seem inescapable these days. Likewise, radio station selection too is done by sliding your finger across the frequency scale!

Space-friendly and I don’t mean ET
This compact-looking yet spacious midsize SUV from JAC has a few extra mm of stretch space and hidden storage space in the boot. Beneath the false flooring, the tyrewell is rather deep making it practicable to store some stuff.

The Drive
JS6 is powered by a 1.5L Turbo GDI (Direct Injection – which means the petrol is directly sprayed into the firing chamber where it mixes with air) engine that makes 181 hp and 280 Nm of torque. It is served to the wheels by a 6-speed DCT (dual clutch gearbox that inherently makes for quicker shifting and better fuel efficiency) The automatic gear is selected via the knob on the console or manually through the paddle shifter. Keeping the handling interesting, the steering feel can also be adjusted among standard, comfort and sport. My trip meter on long drives marked close to 14 km per litre.

The extra mile of thoughtfulness
JAC JS6 comes across as far from flashy and offering ‘elegant value’. However, there is no shortage of ‘premium value’ in comfort features like Dual Zone temperature setting, wireess charger, remote engine start and pre-cooling of cabin, one-touch powered tailgate and memory seats for the driver with ventilation. Thoughtfulness is showcased well in simple details like the sloping temperature screen on the console which serves as a ‘stopper’ for the wireless charging bed, which is more of a tray than a bed already!

Advanced Safety as standard
Safety is inherent in the JS6 environment with 6 airbags, 360-camera, Hill Start Assist and an impact-absorbing steering column. Even though oversensitive to pressure drops at times, a useful Tyre Pressure Monitor is also available on screen. The 2026 model of JS6 also comes with Advanced Driver Assistance System as standard – from Blind Spot and Lane monitoring to Collision Warning and Auto Brake Assist, the package makes for reassured and confident driving.

The essential JAC JS6
The JS6 comes in five colours and what they are named is self-defining to the model itself – a no-nonsense, simplified approach to driving that offers much practical comfort and plenty of value. (So, what are they called? Red, blue, black, white, grey – couldn’t get simpler!)
JAC Al Habtoor Motors has placed value at its peak this season with their year-end offers and accessible pricing. What used to be a tag of AED 82,500 for the JS6 is now conveniently split at AED 1232 per month. The year-end package is complete with the most advantageous of all deals – a 0% interest offer for 3 years. Other offers include Free Service for 2 years or 20,000 km, Free registration, a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty, and a Buy now – Pay in 2026 offer. (Terms and conditions apply on all offers.)

In case you are looking at other JAC models, the JS4 and J7 both begin from AED 939 p.m., and JS3 from AED 782 p.m. Check out the offers (T&C apply) and take your model for a test spin.
