Honda Accord Is Only a Bit Pricier for 2026—Should You Get a 2025 Model Instead?

A Familiar Sedan, Slightly More Expensive

Midsize sedans might not be the hottest ticket in America right now, but the Honda Accord is sticking around. For 2026, Honda played it safe – tweaking just enough and keeping price bumps very minimal. That strategy keeps the Accord in the running against the Toyota Camry, which still leads the pack, especially as buyers get pickier about value.

Line up the 2025 and 2026 prices, and you’ll see the increases are barely noticeable. Honda left the trim lineup mostly untouched, and most price jumps are in the low hundreds. Just note, the figures here don’t include the $1,195 destination charge that applies to both years.

On paper, the 2026 Accord doesn’t really ask much more from your wallet. That alone might make it easy to just go for the newest model. But with plenty of 2025s still on dealer lots, the real question is whether those minor updates are worth skipping out on some serious discounts.

2025 Inventory Still Has Breathing Room

Looking at Cars.com listings paints a clearer picture of why the outgoing model year deserves attention. Gas-only trims, in particular, remain widely available and aggressively priced.

For example, there are about 2,135 units of the 2025 Accord LX still out there, with the lowest prices starting at $24,877 and average discounts of around $2,000. That’s a solid cut below MSRP, putting the base Accord well under its sticker.

The SE trim tells an even clearer story. With roughly 5,200 units still listed, prices drop to $27,500, and average discounts are close to $4,000. That not only wipes out the price difference to the 2026 model, it actually swings the deal in favor of the 2025 – especially if you’re not chasing the newest technology updates. Dealers appear motivated to move 2025 stock, so that’s something customers can take advantage of.

What You Lose If You Opt for MY2025

Going for the slightly older but still brand-new Accord means missing out on a few 2026 updates, though none are deal-breakers. The newer one offers a larger set of wheels, more tech features, and updated infotainment on select trims.

However, the basics stay the same, such as powertrains, ride comfort, cabin space, and fuel economy. If you care more about value than having the latest features, the 2025 Accord’s discounts could easily outweigh the small tweaks in the 2026.
